A Certified Clinical Herbalist and Registered Nurse, Kyce Bello holds and interdisciplinary degree in Southwest Studyes and Creative Writing from the University of New Mexico. She earned an MFA in poetry from the Institute of American Indian Arts, which she attended as a non-Native stydent of Cyban and Puerto Rican descent. Her poems explore the contour between language and landscape. Kyce’s debut poetry collection, Refugia, winner of Interim’s Test Site Poetry Series, was published in 2019 by University of Nevada Press. It received a New Mexico / Arizona Book Award in 2020.
Along with her husband, she raises two daughters in Santa Fe. They live beneath a very large apple tree, a stone’s throw from an occasional river.
