The Bison Project – Meet the Herd

VIRTUAL PRESENTATION + Q&A

How to experience this session:

On November 1, 2015 ten bison were released onto Soapstone Prairie Natural Area and Red Mountain Open Space in northern Colorado establishing the Laramie Foothills Bison Conservation Herd. Today, only 5 years later, approximately 100 bison now roam nearly 3000 acres on these public open spaces. Join Dr. Jennifer Barfield as she introduces you to the herd (virtually) and takes you into the lab where she will provide a look into the science behind establishing the herd. She will also look to the future and discuss how, what started here in northern Colorado, is having an impact for bison conservation across the country.
