Award-winning, Denver-based author Kali Fajardo-Anstine headlines this year’s Fort Collins Book Fest: Up, Up & Out as the 2021 Fort Collins Reads featured author. She will discuss her 2019 debut work, Sabrina & Corina, a magnetic story collection with “stories that blaze like wildfires.” Book sales and signing to follow hosted by Old Firehouse Books.

Sabrina & Corina is a moving narrative of unrelenting feminine power and an exploration of the universal experiences of abandonment, heritage, and an eternal sense of home. The collection of 11 short stories set in Denver and southern Colorado are “achingly realistic” and “bear witness to the lives of Latina women of Indigenous descent trying to survey generations of poverty, racism, addiction, and violence.” (Kirkus Reviews).
